Across the city, the typical night out for two (dinner and a couple of drinks at notable venues) lands at a median of about £120. The spread is wide: an evening in Knightsbridge runs to around £210, while the same night in London Fields comes in near £85, a difference of roughly 2.5 times depending only on postcode.

Methodology
Costs are modelled from the menus and price bands of the notable bars, restaurants and hotels featured in the Lamplit London guides, based on a night out for two (a meal and a couple of drinks). Venues were sorted into three price tiers; neighbourhood figures use the venues in each area. Figures are indicative and rounded, and reflect notable rather than budget venues.
