Staff are consistently praised for warmth rather than stiff formality, which fits a boutique hotel of this size and character better than the more distant service you would find at a much larger five-star property nearby, and the welcome at check-in tends to set the tone for the whole stay. A small gym and treatment room are tucked into the lower ground floor, though neither is the reason most guests choose to stay here.

The honest caveat: as with most Victorian townhouse conversions in this part of London, some rooms are compact by international five-star standards, and street noise or the rumble of the nearby tube line can carry into lower floors, so it rewards travellers who prioritise location and character over generous square footage in the room itself.
